Commissioning & Operational Readiness Factors and Categories

Commissioning & Operational Readiness Factors and Categories

Commissioning & Operational Readiness Assessments include 6 categories which are broken into individual Factors.

Factors

Each Factor is assessed by a short statement to which the team will answer as Yes, No, or Not Applicable (N/A) for the project. Factors may be regular Factors, Hot Spots, or Ongoing Factors. Hot Spots are Factors that have been noted as particularly important during research from the Construction Industry Institute (CII). Ongoing Factors should be re-assessed during each Commissioning & Operational Readiness review within the same commissioning phase.

Factors are weighted as 1 point, or as 2 points if they are Hot Spots, to calculate the overall transition readiness score.

Categories

The Factors are classified into 6 categories representing the 6 commissioning phases.

Categories are auto numbered to reflect which categories are included by a user in a template. When excluding a category, the others will remain in their original order. However, their assigned number will be adjusted to reflect exclusions made by the user. Factors belonging to the categories will also be auto numbered to reflect the category order. This auto-numbering is consistent across the platform, meaning category numbers and ordering for the template will remain consistent in the Assessment tab (including facilitation mode), the Readiness Chart, the Missing Factors tab, the Action Items tab, the Best Practices tab, and the Summary tab (including the Summary PDF report).

The Commissioning & Operational Readiness Categories are:
  1. Detailed Design
  2. Construction
  3. Pre-Commissioning
  4. Commissioning
  5. Startup
  6. Close-Out
