Single sign-on (SSO) authentication allows users to sign in to Carve through their Microsoft account, eliminating the need for a separate Carve username/password for each user.
It is important to understand that:
- SSO can only be configured by the Client, not by Valency.
- The Client manages SSO for Carve. This includes monitoring for upcoming secret key expirations and updating Carve with new secret keys before the expiration date.
For a successful maintenance process, we recommend:
- Ensuring that the Carve Company Admin knows who is responsible for managing their Carve SSO configuration (Carve SSO Admin).
- Implementing a work process where:
- The Carve Company Admin is notified each time the Carve SSO secret key is updated, including the new expiry date.
- The Carve Company Admin sets a calendar reminder for a few weeks before the SSO secret key expiry date, to contact the Carve SSO Admin and ensure the secret key is updated in Carve before the expiration date.
