Overview of The Self Assessment Dialog

Once an assessment begins, you will see the following components:

Assessment Progress Bar

The assessment progress bar is used to help the assessor track their progress when completing a self assessment. As the assessor answers each element, the progress bar updates to show how many have been completed, marked as not applicable, and how many are still unanswered. Additionally, the flag icon will list how many assessment elements have been marked for further review.

Title and Description

A PDRI Assessment is typically split up into 4 major sections - Basis of Project Decision, Basis of Design, Execution Approach and Accuracy (Note that older PDRI templates do not include an Accuracy Section). Within the self assessment, each section is displayed with a brief overview explaining its contents.

Instructions and section details with the self assessment dialog.

Inside each section, a PDRI assessment contains multiple categories, further diving elements into sub-topics. Categories are displayed with an overview explaining their contents and purpose.

Assessment Elements also each contain a title and a description. It is recommended that the assessor thoroughly reads these descriptions before any scoring is completed.

Navigation Bar

The self assessment navigation bar contains three key buttons for navigating an assessment. To exit the facilitation of a self assessment, press the "Done" button. To advance between elements in an assessment, the "Next" and "Previous" buttons can be used. In addition to these buttons, the arrow keys on your keyboard can also be used to navigate through an assessment.

The "Learn More" button is used to copy a prompt to the CII GPT to further explain the element content. Note that you can only access CII GPT if your organization is a CII member.

Completing the Self Assessment:

For each element in a PDRI assessment, the assessor will:
  1. Score the elements on the PDRI Scale of Complete to Incomplete
    1. To improve scoring consistency, when a score has been selected, a corresponding score description will populate in the text box under the scoring level. It is recommended that the assessor reads the score description to ensure the current state of the project aligns with these descriptions.
    2. For more information about PDRI Scoring see:  Scoring PDRI Elements
  2. Record comments describing the current state of the project in relation to the element description
  3. Create action items
  4. If necessary, the assessor can flag an element for further review by clicking the flag icon on the top right of the page. This will add a small flag next to the item in the self assessment menu, and will allow the element to be returned when filtering for flagged elements
