Manage Portfolios Overview

Portfolios are available in Professional and Enterprise Edition. They are managed by the Business Admin or Company Admin (role) to group related projects and/or programs. By aggregating the data, it is possible to compare projects, identify potential areas for continuous improvement, and conduct performance benchmarking. Portfolios can have assessments spanning each template type to organize projects and manage user access. In Carve, portfolios are set as a flat structure to avoid portfolios within portfolios.

Admin Users can:
  1. Create Portfolios
  2. Edit Portfolios
  3. Assign Users Access to Portfolios
  4. Delete Portfolios
If a project is not specifically assigned to a portfolio, it will reside in the ‘Default’ portfolio. All users can view projects in the Default portfolio. Users with the Facilitator role can only manage assessments in the portfolio they are assigned to. Users with the Stakeholder role can only view assessments in portfolio they are assigned to once the assessments have been published to portfolios. Facilitators and Admin users can both publish to portfolio.
