Completing Subsequent Commissioning Assessments

Completing Subsequent Commissioning Assessments

Multiple Commissioning & Operational Readiness assessments can be completed within the same project. The facilitation process will differ slightly if this is the first assessment in a particular Commissioning phase or not.

To begin, select Create Assessment on the Carve Project Dashboard. On the Create Assessment pop-up, you can choose if you would like to copy the action items from the last Commissioning assessment. By default, this option will be selected.

Subsequent Commissioning Assessments in a New Commissioning Phase

Consider this scenario: One Commissioning assessment has already been completed by the project team within Detailed Design. The team scored 88% transition readiness for Construction. Construction has started, and the next Commissioning assessment is about to begin.

The facilitator starts by creating the new assessment from the project on the Carve Project Dashboard. Construction is selected for the Commissioning phase and the facilitator chooses to copy over the action items from the last Commissioning assessment. During the assessment, the Detailed Design Category will already be populated with the factor answers and action items from the previous review. No comments will be copied over. If necessary, the facilitator can review this category with the team. During this assessment, the facilitator only needs to lead the project team through the factors in Category 2. Construction to determine the readiness for pre-commissioning. Comments and action items should be captured as applicable, and action items from the previous assessment that have been completed should be marked as closed

Subsequent Commissioning Assessments in the Same Commissioning Phase

Consider the scenario from the section above. Commissioning assessments have already been completed for Detailed Design and for Construction. However, after the last review, the team only scored 43% readiness for pre-commissioning. The team has made a lot of progress in the last few weeks and have closed many action items from their last review. They are now ready to complete a second Commissioning assessment within Construction.

The facilitator starts by creating the new assessment from the project on the Carve Project Dashboard. Construction is selected for the Commissioning phase and the facilitator chooses to copy over the action items from the last Commissioning assessment. During the assessment, the Detailed Design Category and the Construction Category will already be populated with the factor answers and action items from the last project review. No comments will be copied over. As well, factor answers for factors labelled as "Ongoing Factors" within Category 2. Construction will not be copied over. During the assessment, the facilitator will lead the project team through all the factors in Category 2. Construction. For factors that are not ongoing factors, the facilitator will review the previous score with the team and assess if it needs to be changed. Comments and action items should be captured as applicable, and action items from the previous assessment that have been completed should be marked as closed. For factors that are labelled as ongoing factors, the facilitator will reassess completely with the project team.
