The Self Assessment Dialog
Once the assessment begins, you will see the following components:
Assessment Progress Bar
The assessment progress bar is used to help the assessor track their progress when completing a self assessment. As the assessor answers each factor, the progress bar updates to show how many have been completed, marked as not applicable, and how many are still unanswered. Additionally, the flag icon will list how many assessment factors have been marked for further review.
Title and Description
A Commissioning Assessment is split up into major categories which correspond to different phases of a project. Within a self assessment, each category is displayed with a brief overview explaining its contents.
Assessment factors also each contain a title and description further describing which area of the project they represent. It is recommended that the assessor thoroughly reads these descriptions before any scoring is completed.
Navigation Bar
The self assessment navigation bar contains three key buttons for navigating an assessment. To exit the facilitation of a self assessment, press the "Done" button. To advance between factors in an assessment, the "Next" and "Previous" buttons can be used. In addition to these buttons, the arrow keys on your keyboard can also be used to navigate through an assessment.
The "Learn More" button is used to copy a prompt to the CII GPT to further explain the factor content. Note that you can only access CII GPT if your organization is a CII member.
Self Assessment Menu
To open the Self Assessment Menu, click the circular arrow button at the top left side of the page. Within this menu, you can see where in the assessment you currently are and can quickly navigate to other assessment categories as required.
There are a variety of filters available within the dropdown at the top of this menu which can be used to drill down to specific types of elements. Available filters include:
- All - This is the default menu view, all assessment factors are displayed in order
- Flagged - Displays factors that have been flagged for further review
- Hot Spots - Displays all Hot Spot factors
- Reduced Confidence - Displays all factors which have not been scored with a high confidence. For more information about confidence scoring see Confidence Index
- Not Applicable - Displays factors that have been scored as Not Applicable
- Ongoing - Displays all Ongoing factors
- Unanswered - Displays all factors which have not been scored yet
Along with the standard filters, for the Commissioning & Operations Readiness v2.0 template, you have the option to only view factors up to the current phase or beyond the current phase.
Within the self assessment menu, factors that are unanswered appear as bolded. Categories that contain at least one factor that remains unanswered will also be displayed as bolded.
Completing the Self Assessment:
For each factor in a Commissioning assessment, the assessor will:
- Score factors as "Yes", "No" or "N/A"
- For more information about Commissioning Scoring see: Scoring Commissioning & Operational Readiness Factors
- Record comments describing the current state of the project in relation to the factor description
- Create action items
- If necessary, the assessor can flag a factor for further review by clicking the flag icon on the top right of the page. This will add a small flag next to the item in the self assessment menu, and will allow the factor to be returned when filtering for flagged factors
