Category View

From here, select one of the categories. If this is the first Commissioning assessment being completed for a project and the project is in the Detailed Design phase, only Category 1. Detailed Design needs to be completed. If this is the first Commissioning assessment being completed for a project but the selected phase is after Detailed Design, it is best practice to complete all of the categories up to and including the current phase. For example, if the first Commissioning assessment is being completed in pre-commissioning, complete Category 1. Detailed Design, Category 2. Construction, and Category 3. Pre-Commissioning to confirm that you are not carrying risk from prior project phases.  If a Commissioning assessment has already been completed for this project, please refer to completing subsequent Commissioning assessments.

Clicking on the name of the Category will open the Category dashboard. The Category dashboard view includes:
  1. The ability to filter the factors based on
    1. All factors
    2. Unanswered
    3. No or Unanswered
    4. Not applicable
  2. Category score with corresponding colour indicator
  3. Ability to create an action item
  4. A grid view of
    1. The factor
    2. The factor type
      1. Hot Spots are marked with a star. These are factors that are particularly important for Commissioning & Operational Readiness, as defined by CII research.

Facilitation View

Select a factor from the factor list on the Category dashboard. It is recommended to start with the first listed factor. This will open the facilitation view which will kick-start your discussion with the project team to assess the readiness of each factor. For factors that require more details or clarifications for consistent assessment, company-specific factor descriptions may be added.

Commissioning Facilitation View

For each Commissioning & Operational Readiness factor, the facilitator/co-facilitator will use Carve to:
  1. Capture comments during each factor discussion.
  2. Record action items. These can be associated with an individual factor, or to the project as a whole.
  3. Score each factor as Yes, No, or Not Applicable.
After each factor has been discussed and scored within the appropriate Commissioning category, click Done to return to the Assessment summary view. Once all required categories have been completed, the facilitator can review the following sections with the project team:
  1. Transition Readiness Score for the next Commissioning phase. This can be reviewed from the Assessments tab or the Summary tab.
  2. Transition Readiness Chart
  3. Missing Factors
  4. Action Items. As needed, you can addeditdeletereorder, and export action items.
